The remainder of the day is intentionally unscheduled, giving you time to rest after your journey, explore the neighborhood or simply settle into Cape Town at your own pace.

Spend the day discovering Cape Town with a private guide, beginning with Table Mountain when conditions are clearest and ascending by cableway for panoramic views across the city and Atlantic. Continue through the historic center, Company’s Garden and Bo-Kaap, with time devoted to Cape Town’s history, architecture and thriving contemporary art scene.

The exact order remains flexible so the Table Mountain visit can take advantage of the day’s best weather.

Today is intentionally flexible after the previous day’s sightseeing. Choose an experience that matches your interests, such as an e-bike ride, guided Lion’s Head hike, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, scenic helicopter flight, sailing excursion or time along the waterfront.

Alternatively, keep the day entirely at leisure for shopping, galleries, the beach, spa or simply enjoying Cape Cadogan.

Follow the Atlantic coastline south on a private full-day journey through the Cape Peninsula, traveling via Hout Bay and spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Explore Cape Point and its dramatic cliffs and lighthouse before continuing to Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach, where boardwalks provide close views of a protected colony of African penguins.

Return to Cape Town along the peninsula after one of the region’s great scenic drives.

Leave Cape Town for the short private drive into the Franschhoek Valley and settle into La Clé Lodge. Spend the afternoon however you prefer: enjoy a curated picnic among the vineyards, explore Franschhoek by bicycle or visit the Franschhoek Motor Museum.

This evening, return to La Clé for a traditional South African braai cooked over the coals.

Spend the day exploring the Cape Winelands with a private guide, visiting a carefully selected collection of estates chosen for their wines, settings and individual character. Enjoy elevated tastings, learn about South Africa’s winemaking traditions and pause for a leisurely vineyard lunch.

Return to La Clé for an apéro and game of boules before heading into Franschhoek for dinner at one of the valley’s acclaimed restaurants.

Transfer from Franschhoek to Cape Town Airport and fly directly to Hoedspruit, followed by a private road transfer into Ngala Private Game Reserve. Settle into your tented suite overlooking the seasonal Timbavati riverbed and, timing permitting, head out on your first late-afternoon game drive as the heat fades and wildlife becomes increasingly active.

Direct Cape Town to Hoedspruit flights currently take approximately 2½ hours.

Begin before sunrise with your ranger and tracker, exploring Ngala in search of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffalo and the reserve’s other wildlife. Return to camp during the middle of the day for breakfast, lunch and time beside the pool before setting out again in the late afternoon.

Evening drives continue after dark, offering the chance to encounter nocturnal species and predators on the move.

Continue your safari or choose one of Ngala’s more immersive experiences. Subject to availability and season, join the conservation team for a rhino tagging experience, participating in the veterinary capture and monitoring of a white rhino.

Alternatively, explore the reserve on foot with an experienced guide for a closer understanding of tracks, plants and the smaller details of the ecosystem. Rhino tagging is seasonal and requires advance booking.

Spend your final full day following the wildlife on game drives or opt for another guided walk through the reserve. For an unforgettable finale, replace your final night at camp with the Ngala Treehouse experience, a private four-level retreat hidden in the wilderness approximately five kilometers from Tented Camp.

Watch the sunset, enjoy dinner beneath the stars and sleep either in the protected bedroom or on the open-air upper deck beneath a retractable awning.

Head into the bush one final time at sunrise before returning to camp for breakfast.

Transfer to the airport and fly to Johannesburg, where the journey concludes with your onward international connection.
